This 11-day journey takes you through Karakalpakstan, Khiva, Bukhara and Samarkand to Tashkent, combining UNESCO World Heritage sites with deep immersion in rural Uzbek life and local families.

You will explore regions rarely visited by mass tourism: the unique museums of the Aral desert, silk and woodcraft artisans in Khiva, and farming families of the Khorezm region.

You can adjust this program based on your preferences:

Day 1 — Arrival in Tashkent

Arrival in Tashkent, welcome and hotel check-in. First walk through the historic Khast Imam quarter and the Chorsu bazaar. Welcome dinner.

Day 2 — Flight to Nukus & Savitsky Museum

Domestic flight to Urgench then transfer to Nukus, capital of Karakalpakstan. Visit the celebrated Savitsky Museum, one of the world's greatest avant-garde art collections, secretly assembled during the Soviet era.

Day 3 — Desert Fortresses & the Aral Sea

Excursion into the Karakalpakstan steppes: ancient fortresses of Chilpik Kala and Ayaz Kala, relics of the Khorezmian civilisation. A moving visit to the abandoned port of Moynaq on the former Aral Sea.

Day 4 — Khiva, a Living Open-Air Museum

Road to Khiva. Exploration of Ichan Kala (UNESCO-listed old town): Kalta Minor minaret, Tash-Hauli palace, Juma mosque. Meeting local artisans specialising in wood carving and embroidery. Visit to Gurlan and the AFOR reforestation project.

Day 5 — Road to Bukhara & Silk Weaving

Drive to Bukhara through the Uzbek countryside. Stop at a silk weaving village to discover the ancestral ikat technique. Homestay night possible depending on dates.

Day 6 — Historic Bukhara

Full day in Bukhara: the Ark citadel, Kalon mosque and its 47-metre minaret, Samanid mausoleum (9th century), and the historic Toq covered bazaars. Free evening in the medina's alleyways.

Day 7 — Madrasas & Encounters

Discovery of Bukhara's madrasas: Mir-i-Arab, Nadir Divanbegi. Visit to Lyabi-Hauz, heart of the historic quarter. Lunch with a local family and afternoon with potter or embroiderer artisans.

Day 8 — Samarkand at Dusk

Road to Samarkand. First immersion with a visit to the Registan at dusk. Dinner in a traditional city restaurant.

Day 9 — Deep Samarkand & Shakhrisabz

Gur-e-Amir mausoleum, Bibi-Khanym mosque, Shah-i-Zinda necropolis. Afternoon: excursion to Shakhrisabz, Tamerlane's birthplace, to visit the Ak-Saray palace and the Dor-us-Saodat complex.

Day 10 — Return to Tashkent

Road or fast train to Tashkent. Visit to the old town: Kukeldash mosque and Chorsu bazaar. Free time for last-minute shopping. Farewell dinner with your guide.

Day 11 — Departure

Transfer to the airport according to your flight time. End of your solidarity journey.
